Our Next Steps

As we prepare to return to New York City from the FLIPS conference, we want to highlight the key takeaways that we’ve gathered from this conference and the suggestions we have received to help expand our nonprofit.

  • Fundraising

As we proceed with The Melody Project, fundraising remains one of our primary focal points. Expanding our funds will allow us to not only enrich the lives of senior citizens themselves but also improve the quality of the assisted living facilities in which they reside, particularly those that are underprivileged or undersourced. We also plan to support the elderly community by sponsoring organizations tailored toward elderly care, namely the National Council on Aging and the Alliance on Aging Research. To acquire these funds, we plan to raise money within the domain of our school—hosting bake sales, clothing drives, or book drives—and outside of school, utilizing crowdfunding or online campaigns.

  • Statistics

To prove the beneficial outcomes of our nonprofit to prospective partners, we aim to capitalize on the statistics and empirical data that emphasize our success and the importance of our mission. To achieve this, we plan on conducting research regarding the science of aging and the influence of social interaction on the aging brain. Using this research, we can stress the importance of communication and music therapy that we provide in mitigating the effects of the cognitive decline that comes with aging, thus increasing the ultimate appeal of our nonprofit.
